The PDF here is CERTAINLY worth the purchase with hugely imaginative monsters for your game. The perfect addition to the also awesome Tome of Beast. This is another fantastic product from Kobold Press! So I've been reading through the PDF since I downloaded it and here are my thoughts. The Creature Codex is large expansion in terms of monsters and concepts. Much like their previous entry the Tome of Beasts many monsters are designed very differently from the style of monsters that WOTC creates. I've found the PDFs to be surprisingly useful (though not mandatory). In general, the Amazon price without PDF is the same as the Kobold Press price with the PDF for the first few months.
